A little about Tayla and Bill's special day

Simple. Elegant. Relaxed ….The perfect Russel, New Zealand elopement!

Bill & Tayla eloped at a super cool airbnb overlooking the bay. It was the perfect location for whatever the weather would bring. In Bill and Tayla’s case, the day turned out to be a little showery and a little misty. No worries though! With a dark rain shower on their far left- they exchanged their vows on the front lawn of their Airbnb.

Bill and Tayla had both of their mums present as their witnesses, and this made their elopement very intimate and very special! The rest of their close family watched via Zoom online. Laura Stokes did a beautiful job in being their celebrant (who we 110% recommend btw.) After the ceremony finished everyone celebrated with champagne and hung out. The ceremony was followed by a packed picnic to the beach for the creative bride and groom photos. Bill and Tayla’s creative elopement photos at the beach couldn’t have turned out to be more gorgeous! 

After the creative photos were finished; Bill and Tayla returned to their Airbnb to have their first dance back where they had gotten married earlier that day. They then finished up their elopement by having a professional chef come and cook them dinner. The perfect New Zealand elopement! And even if those rain showers off in the distance had happened, it was pretty cool having the snazzy indoor option if needed.

Tips and suggestions

PRO TIP: take a picnic basket filled with champagne holding all your favourite goodies for you to enjoy together on your elopement day.

Extra PRO TIP - if you're choosing to elope outside --> go book a snazzy airbnb that you LOVE as a back plan in case the weather doesn't play ball. It's totally worth it for your peace of mind andddd you'll thank yourself a hundred times over if you end up needing it.
